Our People

Margrit Schreier

Research Consultant | PhD

I have for some time been looking for ways of bringing together my identities as a psychologist and social science methodologist on the one hand and as a homeopathic practitioner on the other hand.

Margrit Schreier studied History of the English Language and Literature at New College, Oxford (BA/MA), Psychology at the University of Heidelberg (Diploma Psychology and
PhD), followed by Habilitation in Psychology at the University of Cologne. Her research interests include qualitative research methods and methodology, mixed methods, high
sensitivity, and health research. She has been a principal investigator in several DFG-funded research projects, and she has authored and co-authored more than 90 book chapters and
articles as well as textbooks on research methods and methodology. She is also a classical homeopath (Clinical Diploma, School of Homeopathy, Devon, UK) and a mindfulness
meditation teacher (Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield). She was Full Professor of Empirical Research Methods at Jacobs
University Bremen, Germany, from 2003 – 2020, where she continues to hold an Adjunct Professorship. Since 2016, she has been in practice as a clinical homeopath and subsequently
as a mindfulness teacher. She is a member of several professional associations, such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie (German Psychological Society), the VKHD (German
Society of Classical Homeopaths), and the IMTA (International Mindfulness Teachers Association).
