What should homeopathy research be asking?
Mechanism of action remains an important scientific question, but it is only one part of a much larger research landscape. Clinical outcomes, practitioner-generated data, education, workforce trends, provings, artificial intelligence, history, and real-world use all offer opportunities to better understand homeopathy and strengthen the profession.
In a new article published by the American Association for Homeopathic Products (AAHP), IAH President Denise Straiges shares the broader research agenda being developed through HOHM Research and the Institute for the Advancement of Homeopathy.
The article explores how data from Homeopathy Help Network is contributing to real-world clinical research; how the Practitioner-Generated Research Network is helping practicing homeopaths participate in research; the Research Office’s work in artificial intelligence, professional practice, and historical scholarship; and the development of a dedicated Provings Office.
It also looks at an area of growing importance: opportunities for independent researchers and the homeopathic products industry to collaborate on questions ranging from utilization and prescribing patterns to post-market safety and contemporary proving research.
As Denise writes, building the future of homeopathy will require a research agenda broad enough to investigate the questions arising throughout the profession.
